New here. But thought I would share an experience with those who suffers the same problem as I do. I have been taking protein powder for years. And almost there is no cure to my stomach upset problem when I swish down a bottle after each workout. Sometimes it’s better , other times it’s bad. It ranges from bloating to diarrhea. Tried whey. Whey isolate. Whey isolate lactose free. Plant base protein. Protein bar. At the end of the day it’s not the lactose, the isolate or whatever. It’s just my stomach can’t process protein in a large amount. So I try to drink it in small doses. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Until last week I tried one last method. I started adding oatmeal- uncooked oatmeal (not the instant kind) and I added about 1/2 -1 cup to each shaker. Soaked it overnight and drink it at room temperature. So far it has been one week and I haven’t had one diarrhea. Or stomach problem. I still try to space it out a bit and not finish the entire thing at once. But I think this will be my solve until it starts happening again. I am taking Isopure isolate and before I added the oatmeal I was still having diarrhea with the brand. So I know it’s not the brand that helped because I went from diarrhea to none consuming the same brand. I searched here for solution and didn’t see many people talking about it. So I thought to share it with those who suffer the same problem as I do. Update: tried oatmeal with other types of non isolate whey and still no stomach upsets anymore. Slowing down absorption does work miracles.
